The Desert Rose

The Desert Rose, located at the top of the main stairs, overlooks the rose garden from a second story southwest window alcove. The room's original brick fireplace was uncovered during renovation. Rocking chair, antique iron bedstead, and trading post floor mats -- the Desert Rose looks much as it might have in late 19th-century Wichita. We've added a private bath, a clothes wardrobe and a firm queen-size bed for a restful night.

The Garden Rose

The rose graces this elegant room's linens, wall covering and windows. You may hang clothes in the antique walnut wardrobe. Sit by the window in the east alcove in a pleasantly squeaky rocker. The cherry four poster queen-size bed is framed by reading lamps and tables. Step across the hall to your private bath with the original porcelain pedestal sink and oversized cast iron tub.

Serenity Rose

Serenity Rose is Vermilion Rose's largest guest bedroom, with a five-window south bay overlooking mature trees, the perennial garden and brick walkway. The sitting area with wicker rocker, wicker writing desk and stool makes a cozy place for reading, writing and nibbles. The private bath has both shower and bathtub and retains the original electric porcelain and glass light fixtures. The firm, king-size bed is bordered by wall lights and book tables.

The Lavender Rose

The Lavender Rose, an east room overlooking the native stone patio, perches high in the trees. The sitting area has an eastern exposure, five-window bay, for bird and squirrel watching or enjoying a book. A pine cabinet with porcelain basin, and nineteenth century sconce lights make this room a cozy hideaway. The private bath, antique rocker, and queen-size bed complete the comfortable retreat atmosphere of a tree house.
